I. General

The security and confidential handling of your data is our priority. To protect your data, we therefore use only the latest security standards.

We collect and process your information to give you the best possible service through convenient access to our products and services; collecting and processing these data also enables us to handle your order, from acceptance to delivery and billing, quickly and to your complete satisfaction, and to tell you about our products.

II. General information concerning the processing of your data (general information, disclosure, retention period)

The data entered or provided by you in the course of personal, written or telephone contact, when registering on the websites of WOUNDWO or via other channels chosen by you are used for the purpose of accessing the products offered, keeping in contact, processing transactions or to comply with legal requirements.

As a Group, we work with other Group companies to guarantee our customers the best possible price / performance ratio and level of satisfaction, by allocating tasks to specific regions and/or by concentrating similar tasks at one location. In doing so, data are shared within the Group only if such data disclosure is necessary in order to perform a contract, comply with legal requirements or enhance the customer experience. For more details, see below under II. in the section headed: ‘With whom do we share your data?’

The Group includes the companies of the WOundWO Group, which are WO&WO Sonnenlichtdesign GmbH & Co KG in Austria, WOundWO Sonnenlichtdesign GmbH in Germany, WOundWO Swiss GmbH in Switzerland, WOundWO France SARL in France and WOundWO stinici technika s.r.o. in the Czech Republic. Data are shared within the Group only if such data disclosure is necessary in order to perform a contract, comply with legal requirements or enhance the customer experience.

In order to perform contracts, where goods are delivered by third parties we pass on our customers’ data to logistics companies which deliver the goods on our behalf. In the event of any transaction, your data will be disclosed to payment service providers (e.g. banks) for the purpose of processing payment. They may also be passed on to tax consultants who are subject to confidentiality obligations, in order to meet our tax obligations. Data of interested end-customers may, with their consent, be transmitted to professional trade partners who meet the criteria specified by the end-customer.

If you provide us with data of third parties (e.g. address of an end customer), you declare by so doing that you are authorized to disclose this data to us and that we may process the data as explained above. (In the event of any such third party directing any enquiries to us under the GDPR, we will refer such party to yourself, but as far as possible work with you in responding to the enquiry).

If you provide us with data (e.g. for newsletter subscription), you also declare that we may process those data for our own marketing activities. You may of course withdraw your consent to this processing.

In the event of a contract being concluded, all data arising out of the contractual relationship are retained until the expiry of the tax retention period (7 years).  In addition, data relating to name, address, goods purchased and date of purchase are stored until the product liability period has expired (10 years) at the latest.  The data are processed on the basis of the statutory provisions contained in § 96(3) TKG (German Telecommunications Act) and Art 6(1)(a) (Consent) and/or (b) (necessary for contract performance) of the GDPR. Where there are longer legally prescribed retention periods (e.g. in the case of official checks) and to provide evidence in the event of (anticipated) legal disputes, data will be saved for a longer period; this will be limited in time depending on the stated purposes. 

III. Specific information concerning the registration function of the website (B2B area)

What data do we store, record and use, and for what purposes?

The data entered or provided by you when registering on the websites of WOUNDWO or via other channels chosen by you are used for the purpose of accessing the products offered and for processing transactions.

With your consent, we store the personal information you provide when registering as your personal profile, so that you can conveniently log in with your username and password when visiting the website in the future.

By registering on our websites using the registration function, you agree to the use of the personal details provided by you (in particular your name, home or delivery address, email and telephone number) for proper contract performance, billing and, where applicable, for advertising purposes. Your customer-related data will be stored and processed for customer service purposes and will only be shared with third parties if this is necessary for the performance of a contract (see above, ‘With whom do we share your data?’). If you as an end customer require more in-depth advice and display a greater interest in our products, we will pass on the data you provide to selected and qualified specialist trading partners of WO&WO, as this ensures you receive expert, qualified end customer advice.

We also use your information to improve our platform (see also Point IV, Cookies), and to prevent or detect any misuse of our website.

IV. Cookies

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer or smartphone when you visit one of our websites. They contain information about the websites you visit, which your browser stores whenever you surf the internet.


Cookies contain, among other things, the following data:

  • name of the server that created the data package;
  • unique ID number;
  • sometimes, an end date.

Cookies allow a website to recognise the user when he or she visits that website again and may be used, for example, to make sure you don’t have to log in to one of our websites again once you’ve already logged in. Cookies are also useful for storing and transmitting information about the user’s surfing behaviour.

This information is stored in a simple text file on your computer, which the server can access to read and save the information.
A cookie is always bound to a unique domain (that of the server that placed the cookie), so that the server that created the cookie can also access it.

Cookies are used both to improve service quality, including saving user preferences, and to recommend content and search results; they can also track user trends, such as what content users consume. This enables us to evaluate the use of our digital platforms, gaining valuable insights into the needs of users. These insights help us to further improve the quality of our digital platforms.

In addition to cookies, tracking pixels may also be used; these are graphic points which are loaded externally, allowing visitor access and the addresses retrieved to be counted.

What cookies are used on the websites of WOUNDWO and how can they be checked?

A. Performance analysis or web analysis cookies

Google Analytics

WOUNDWO websites use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so called “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the websites analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of these websites will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. However, if IP anonymisation is activated on the websites, your IP address will first be truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states which are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of these websites, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities and to perform other services associated with website and internet usage for the website operator. The IP address communicated by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics will not be associated with any other data held by Google. You can prevent cookies being stored by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser software; however, we would point out that if you disable cookies you may not be able to use all the functions of the WOUNDWO websites to their full extent. The websites of WOUNDWO also use the Analytics functions UserID to track interaction data. This user ID is additionally anonymised and encrypted and is not associated with other data.

The websites of WOUNDWO use the Analytics functions for remarketing, reports on impressions in the Google Display Network, integration of DoubleClick Campaign Manager, and Google Analytics reports on performance according to demographic characteristics and interests. You can disable Google Analytics for display advertising and customise the ads in the Google Display Network by visiting the ad settings at this link: https://www.google.de/settings/ads. 

B. Third-party cookies or pixels

Leadinspector, Youtube, Facebook and Twitter

We use Youtube, Facebook and Twitter to make videos about our products accessible to you and to bring you information about or from WOUNDWO. YouTube, Facebook and Twitter may place cookies on your device if you use functions of these services via our website (e.g. viewing embedded YouTube videos). A YouTube interactive feature may not be available if you refuse to accept cookies. You therefore may not be able to watch an embedded YouTube video from our website. We cooperate with Facebook to provide interested parties with information about our products on Facebook. To do this, we use Facebook Connect and Facebook Custom Audience.

For the statistical evaluation of visitor access, technologies from Lead Inspector GmbH are used to collect, process and store data for marketing purposes and to identify web visitors. The Lead Inspector GmbH technology uses these data to determine addresses, but only in those cases where it is able to ascertain that the visitor is a company and not an individual. For this purpose, so-called cookies may be used. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and enable us to analyse your use of the website. The corporate data collected by Lead Inspector GmbH may also contain personal data. Lead Inspector GmbH may use information that you leave by visiting the websites to create anonymised user profiles. If IP addresses are collected, they are anonymised immediately after collection by deleting the last number block. You may withdraw your consent to the collection and storage of data by Lead Inspector GmbH for this website at any time, with effect for the future, at www.leadinspector.de/widerspruch.

 ‘Do not track’ function:

Some web browsers have a ‘Do not track’ function which tells websites that you do not want them to record your online activities. These functions have not yet been standardised. For this reason, our websites have not yet been set up to process and respond to this information.

V. Newsletter

You can sign up for our email newsletter on our websites. If you subscribe, the personal data you provide when registering for the newsletter will be stored by us and used for the registration purpose (sending the newsletter for information and marketing purposes) and, if we have obtained your express consent in advance, for advertising purposes.

To improve our newsletter and customise it to your preferences, the clicks in the newsletter are tracked as follows:

1. Anonymous tracking

For statistical purposes, we carry out anonymous link tracking. In this case web beacons (tracking pixels) are used. However, no record is made of who clicked.

2. Individual tracking

We want to send you only material that is of interest to you, and we are constantly working to improve our offers on the web and in all emails we send. To do this, we’d like to track what you click on in the newsletter and what you do on our website. This is the easiest way for us to find out what interests you most, and what we need to work on. We therefore ask for your consent to the analysis of your email click behaviour. 

VI. Emailing for the purpose of providing service information about products you already use

We also send by email administrative notifications relating to the use of your product. Our service announcements tell you about important changes concerning the products you use. You can only unsubscribe from these email notifications if your contractual relationship or the current business relationship has ended.

VII. RIGHT OF ACCESS AND OPTIONS FOR COMPLAINT

Under the Data Protection Act you have a right to information, free of charge, about your stored data. Of course, this information is free. Should you have any questions about this data privacy policy, if you wish to complete, amend, delete or transfer your data, or if you are receiving newsletters or advertising offers and would like this to stop, contact our customer services department at office@woundwo.at

If you suspect that your data have been processed in violation of data privacy legislation and/or otherwise wish to make a complaint for reasons relating to data privacy, we would expressly refer you to the options for lodging a complaint with the competent data protection authority, which in Austria is the Datenschutzbehörde (www.dsb.gv.at).

Mouse Tracking

Our aim in terms of the GDPR (legitimate interest) is to improve the range of services we offer online and to enhance our internet presence. Using Hotjar technology, we gain a better understanding of our users’ experiences (e.g. how much time users spend on which pages, which links they click, what they like and what they don’t like etc.), and that helps us tailor our offer to the feedback provided by our users. Hotjar uses cookies (see above) and other technologies to collect information about the behaviour of our users and about their end devices (in particular, the IP address of the device (this is recorded and stored only in anonymised form), screen size, device type (Unique Device Identifiers), information about the browser used, location (country only), preferred language for displaying our website). Hotjar stores this information in a pseudonymized user profile.
